We’ve been selected among the teams that will be attending Seedcamp London, next week.
It is a great honor for us to be among the top teams from Europe that will get the chance to meet some awesome mentors that will help us get an even better understanding of the startup ecosystem while challenging our existing assumptions.
Why Seedcamp?
Seedcamp has traditionally been a great launching pad for startups form Slovenia. Our friends Zemanta won the first Seedcamp week in 2007, while our friends from Uniki, Shout’em and Visionect were all Seedcamp finalists.
Actually, we’ve applied to Seedcamp before, and one of our team members has mentored at a Mini Seedcamp event in the region.
How to get in?
Preparation for your Seedcamp or Mini Seedcamp application should start long before the official application opens. We have tried to meet as many experienced and intelligent people as possible (many of them connected directly to Seedcamp), explained our idea to them, got feedback, reconvened, and then finally composed our application.
The ideas we wrote in the application are quite a leap forward on what we had in mind six months ago because of all the feedback we got.
Remember to keep your answers compact and to the point. Limit yourself to a sentence or two for each answer. Do your homework, research the market, get some figures and write them down - you’ll need them. Even if those figures are not accurate to the last cent you will still have an overview of the market size and potential.
Finally, be honest with yourself and don’t push it. Spend a lot of time on the product and create something valuable for your users, not just something valuable for a startup competition.
Our Expectations
With some amazing mentors on the Seedcamp London roster, we are most definitely going to learn a lot. Our minds are open and ready, let the camping begin!
